This site
The easiest way to see how we build is to look at what you're reading. This site was made the same way we make client sites, and it has the same kind of system behind it — the one we run the business on.
Nine pages of hand-written HTML and one stylesheet. Four font files. No framework, no page builder, no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to. It is served from a global edge network at no cost, and a typical page arrives in well under a second on a phone.
The reasoningWhy no framework. A brochure site does not need one. Every dependency is something that will need updating in a year and something that can break on a client's behalf. Plain files can't break.
Why the estimator. Because prices matter and nobody likes asking. The estimator works the way we quote — in days, then priced — so what it shows you is the same arithmetic we'll do on a call, not a marketing number.
Why the corners. Every rectangle on this site has the same two corners rounded and the same two square, because our mark does. It is a small rule applied everywhere, and it is what makes a page look like ours before you've seen the logo.
The system behind itBehind the staff sign-in is the same sort of thing we build for clients: an enquiry list the contact form feeds straight into, a pipeline from first call to handover, day-logging against every job so we know what we actually earn, invoices, expenses, a tax-year summary, and a planner for what we post. It is built on the same platform as the site, costs nothing to run, and it is how two people run a business without a back office.
If you want a system like it — for a band, a shop, a practice — that is exactly the kind of work we do.
